I absolutely loved the homey feel of a small backyard wedding. The Rafferty and Cruz families definitely had the sweetest set up. There was no shortage of love and laughs even if it was a bit chilly!

When it is January 1st on the beach, you make the best of your surroundings. I enjoyed taking my mom and step dad’s photos a couple years ago when we decided to spend our Christmas vacation with them in Myrtle Beach!

Last year about this same time I had the priviledge of photographing my friend and fellow photographer Leigha and her family. See, she wanted photos with her little brother before he left for bootcamp. They are a tight knit family and so it was tough to see him go. But, they aren’t strangers to the military life since Leigha’s husband Drew was also a Marine (yes, I know once a Marine always a Marine). I’m so happy I was able to capture some sweet moments with everyone before they had to say (a temporary) goodbye.

The Gavin Family had originally booked their session for a park, but we had weeks worth of rain beforehand so we opted for the scenery that Downtown Clayton had to offer! I’m so excited we did their photos in our growing suburban hotspot!
