Hi there! So, I see you’re here to check me out! Here’s my inside scoop!
I’m married to my high school sweetheart (15 years). We have two beautiful girls (7th and 3rd grade) and two cats. (I’m fairly certain my personal Instagram account is 85% cat photos).
As a family, we love to camp, travel, and vacation. Being together and creating memories are more important to us than having “things”. We also have quite the collection of board games, which we usually play on any given weekend. (Don’t let our youngest fool you either, she will beat you at Monopoly and Candyland!)
My full-time job is a stay at home mom and housewife! I enjoy being able to be there for my girls; take them to swim practice and scream my head off at their swim meets. (Yes, I’m that mom.) I’m also now a band mom (my middle schooler plays the flute), which I’m really excited about since I was a band geek in high school too (saxophone, French horn, and color guard)! Three years ago I fell in LOVE with CrossFit and have been a member at CrossFit Clayton ever since. I finally had enough courage to enter my first competition (with a partner) this past spring and placed third! Even though I’m into health and fitness, you’ll never see me turn down a chocolate chip cookie.
My journey into photography actually began in high school (2000), but wasn’t rediscovered until we moved to England back in 2008. I began my photography education my senior year of high school. We were all given a film camera and given assignments. I spent hours taking photos and in the darkroom watching my art develop. Upon moving to England I really wanted to be able to capture our time there through photos. I also found out I was pregnant with our second daughter that same year. I wanted to be sure that we would have photos to remember our time there; growing and traveling as a family. It wasn’t until 2011 that I started to practice on people other than my own family. I had to relearn a lot going from film to digital and from an actual darkroom to Photoshop (and my beginning Photoshop days were NOT pretty!) A few months after moving from England to North Carolina, I opened up my services to clients. I wanted to be able to share my love of photography with others. I wanted to give them the experience to see their lives through my view. Real. Genuine. Heart-warming photos. For me, photography is the only window we have to be able to look back on those tiny moments in life. Photography for me feels like it is my gift, my purpose, and is meant to be shared.
