Back To School | Raleigh Children’s Photographer

This little cutie snagged a “Back to School Mini” session!  And she rocked it out!  Nothing is more exciting than starting Kindergarten!!

Back to school is more like full swing now!

In our house we have our routine down more or less.  It makes it so much easier on the kids AND parents to have one!  There are nights that are more trying than others and you wonder if you could qualify as a contestant on “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader”.  But, all in all I’m happy to see my youngen’s growing and learning every day.

Keep your eyes peeled as I will slowly be reveling MY style in my upcoming sessions.  I’m going back to my roots of why I fell in love with photography in the first place!

Clayton Senior Now UNCW Freshman | Clayton High School Senior Photographer

Brace yourselves for the HUGE share of photos from the rest of this session!

This entire session was shot in a two day time period.  We utilized the golden hour sun one evening…and TRIED to get to the beach for sunrise photos by the pier on Kure Beach.  We even took advantage of vibrantly colored walls while waiting in line for Brits’ Donuts on the boardwalk!  Then it was onto campus at UNCW!

With EVERY client I love to personalize their session in whichever way we can.  For this not quite high school senior session we incorporated the locations and her bike to show off her personality!

Belated High School Senior Now UNCW Freshman | Raleigh, NC Senior Photographer

For a whole year this now college freshman and myself had tried planning her photo session.  But, guess what I am so glad that we waited till she actually started at UNCW!

We had SO many locations around the campus, Ft. Fisher, and the Kure Beach Pier to accentuate this beauty’s beauty.

Some of my favorites were actually taken while waiting in line for Britt’s Donuts.  (Only the best donut you could possibly eat)  So, obviously scoring donuts in addition to amazing locations was an extra bonus!

I’m just going to share the photos that we were able to catch while the sun was setting at Ft. Fisher…and OH MY GOODNESS the light was to DIE for!  Yes, I get excited about pretty light very easily!

I’ll continue to add more from her session as I finish them up, so keep your eyes peeled!!

Sunny & Rainy Maternity & Birthday Session | Raleigh, NC Maternity and Children’s Photographer

We have had the gammet of weird weather here in NC this summer!  But, this session was going to happen no matter what Mother Nature decided to throw at us!

The minute we arrived we had sun, and LOTS of it and we could hear thunder in the background so, we knew we only had minutes of sunshine left.  But, even with the rain that was not going to “go around” us we decided to shoot on!

I was so happy to shoot this family again!  I had done their pregnancy announcement earlier in the year and was excited to do some maternity AND birthday photos for “big brother”!

As always, we had a great time even though the weather TRIED to dampen the mood.

Back To School!!! | Raleigh Child Photographer

Well that time of year is upon us when parent’s jump for joy and teachers are gearing up for students coming off of summer vacation bad habits! It is hard to believe that the summer has almost come to an end (I’m still hanging on till after Labor Day).  We have been super busy at our house!  Or at least tried to stay busy!  From horseback riding and swimming lessons, to a day at the beach we’ve fit in quite a bit of excitement for our summer!  I’m ready to wind down and get into more of a schedule as I’m sure most parents are!

I decided to finally snag my kiddos and take some back to school photos before it rained…again.  I had been meaning to do it for almost a week, but weather and life had other plans.  So, here they are!  And I am also offering something exciting for those who book a full session with me!  Ready for this?…

Yes, my oldest picked out the Bible on the desk.  She reads it almost every night.  I told her to pick out three books she likes, and I am so proud she had her Bible in the mix.
